Wheels and bearings are important pieces of inline equipment that ice hockey players don’t have to worry about. High quality wheels & bearings, however, can boost speed for inline players. Wheels also come in different levels of hardness (called “durometer”), and which durometer level is right for each player is different according to weight and playing surface. Softer wheels are often considered more “sticky” or “grippy,” and are better for smoother surfaces, like indoor sport courts. Players may also own several sets of wheels at once for different types of playing surfaces.
